Taylor Lasher

I am a self-taught artist specializing in acrylic works on canvas. Living and creating in Saugeen Shores is a coastal artist's dream. My artwork showcases my love for water in its many forms. Lake Huron brings me a humbling comfort and peace amidst the storms of life, inspiring the artworks I create. From peaceful waters to powerful waves, I am continually inspired by the many moods of water. In 2015, at 18 years old I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma cancer, resulting in surgery to remove my entire right shoulder blade and muscle. The surgery left me with mobility restrictions of my dominant arm. I had to learn to do most things in life differently, including how I physically paint. I turned to painting as a form of therapy and it continues to fill my life with peace, comfort and purpose. I released my first collection of paintings through my website in 2020. I have had three exhibition shows at Southampton Arts (2021-2023) and became a permanent member of the Gallery in 2023.

Southampton Arts would like to acknowledge the Traditional Territory of the Anishinabek Nation:

The People of the Three Fires known as Ojibway, Odawa, and Pottawatomie Nations, and the Métis Nation.

We further give thanks to the Chippewas of Saugeen, and the Chippewas of Nawash, now known as the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, as the Traditional Keepers of this Land.
