Wendy Bachiu

Graduating from both Design Arts and Creative Arts in college, Owen Sound artist Wendy Bachiu worked in the graphic design and  marketing/promotion industry most of her life, while continuing to paint and draw. Particularly interested in early Ontario history, she designed many interpretive signs that tell stories of local history and growth across Grey & Bruce Counties. Presently, she leads art classes and workshops and recently illustrated a children’s book. Formerly working in a conventional style with acrylics and watercolour, Wendy now mainly concentrates on abstraction in oil & cold wax medium. She has achieved master level in cold wax & oil studies under American artist Rebecca Crowell and is the only Canadian in the original CW&O Painters Group that meets annually in Wisconsin. Her work is in collections across Canada and USA and in Holland, Ireland and Denmark.
