A Call for Artists

Southampton Arts Centre is excited to announce a juried call for artists to be featured in our Gateway to the Arts outdoor installation!

We’re looking for photographs of original artwork that represent a wide variety of artistic mediums—painting, sculpture, textile, photography, printmaking, ceramics, ironworks, and more. Selected images will be transposed onto permanent display panels and featured in the Gateway to the Arts sign located just outside the Arts Centre.

20 artworks will be selected to showcase the diversity and creativity of our arts community.

Submission Guidelines:

There is a $25 submission fee for each photograph submission
Submit one high-resolution photograph of your original artwork.
Artwork should reflect your primary medium or style.
All submissions will be reviewed by a jury of arts professionals.
Selected works will be professionally reproduced and displayed outdoors.
Panel Size: 13"W X 17.5"H - Full Colour

Deadline for submissions: May 31, 2025

Notification of acceptance: June 9, 2025

The Application Process

Please fill out each section carefully. Below you will be invited to upload one image demonstrating your work.

Upon payment, your application will be forwarded to our panel of judges. Using their expertise, they will choose images that they feel will help represent a variety of mediums that will encompass a 'Gateway to all Arts'.

Once your artwork image has been accepted to represent your medium, you will receive an email asking you to send a high-resolution image with further information on when the images will be printed and inserted into the Gateway to the Arts.

PLEASE NOTE: we are only accepting applications from artists within Grey Bruce. We would like the Gateway to represent artists in our local community.

A short artist statement. Please note, this is not a bio. Please do not divulge personal information. Rather, use this section as a place to explain your inspirations and principles as an artist. We will use this in different media applications.

Your Medium

Please apply with only ONE medium per application. You can fill out multiple applications for different mediums, but will be charged a $25 application fee for each application.

Please upload a clear image of your work. Please name the file with the piece's title, or a descriptive title.
