MEET THE TEAM
Meet our 2022 Summer Staff ZOE, HIBA and SARITA!
These three students bring great energy and a wealth of new ideas we'll be utilizing this summer. They will assist our full time staff during this busy summer season but will also be creating and full-filling their own project ideas revolving around all gallery and school related events.
We're so happy to have them and are very excited to have a beautiful and successful summer!
Hi! My name is Zoe Shave and I am thrilled to be working as the Gallery Assistant for SAC this summer!
I recently completed my first year of university at Lakehead in Orillia where I study Environmental Sustainability. The health of the environment has always been at my forefront of priorities and I look forward to achieving my degree in Bachelors of Arts and Science after 3 more years and a co-op placement at Lakehead.
I enjoy the arts and my passion lies within sewing and quilting. I have a small business, Daisy Chain Designs that I started at the beginning of the pandemic, where I sell masks and scrunchies, and polymer clay jewellery! I especially enjoy using vintage sewing patterns to make my own clothing, which helps me to live more sustainably.
This is going to be a great summer at SAC!
Children's Program Coordinator
Hey! I’m Hiba, and I am proud to be working as the Program Coordinator for the Southampton Arts Centre this year!
I live in Port Elgin and will be going into grade eleven at SDSS in September. Although it sounds cliché, I have always had a thing for arts and crafts since I was little, and working at SAC has been an incredible opportunity for me. The working environment is amazing and the people here are even more so.
I look forward to working here this summer!
"Hi! I'm Sarita and I'm excited to be a gallery assistant at Southampton Arts this summer!
I've always loved visiting the gallery and I know I'm going to love being a part of the team. This September, I'll be going into my last year as a Communications and Business student at the University of Waterloo. Waterloo is known for its co-op program and I've used my terms to try everything from tax preparation to tourism! The co-ops have been a great way to experiment and find out what I might like to do after graduating.
While my experimentation continues on in the art I like to do, I've recently taken to making watercolour cards and felt "creatures" - aka weird, but lovable, looking frogs and cats. I'm also an avid baker and post my bakes on my instagram account sarita.s.bakes, where you'll find everyday treats to cakes I've made for friends and family.
I'm looking forward to meeting you all at the gallery!"
