OPEN PRINTMAKING STUDIO WITH SANDY ESPLEN
Date & Time: July 10-12th, 9am-4pm
Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate
Material Fee: $25 payable to the instructor
This is an opportunity for students who have always wanted to try printmaking, to come out and learn the step by step process of creating monoprints on the printing press. Sandy will walk the students through a variety of simple techniques and the safety involved when using the press. Coaching will be provided on colour, design, line, and focal points to create a pleasing image. If there is time, students will create a multi-print plate using all of the plates created in the class. Everyone will leave with a frameable print, and all supplies are available from the Instructor for the stated fee. Bring your creativity and let's get that press rolling.
PRINTMAKING: THE COLLAGRAPH WITH VALERIE JANE GEARD

Skill Level: All Levels
Material Fee: $30 payable to the instructor
Collagraph printmaking involves the construction of a plate by gluing or collaging together a variety of found materials, which can then be coloured and printed multiple times. Included in the material fee, students will get to play with gel mediums, gesso, glues, plate building surfaces, printmaking papers, and embellishment materials. If students have these materials at home they are asked to please bring them; a notebook, pen, pencil, watercolours, xacto knife, self healing mat, and textural collage materials.
