If you think your watercolour paintings are too tight and you want to try loose techniques then this is the class for you. This class will be experimental, messy, and fun!

  • Cancellations and Refunds

    • A cancellation fee (15% of the course fee) will be deducted for any class canceled by the student more than 14 days before the class starting date.
    • NO REFUND is given on classes the student cancels less than 14 days before the class begins.
    • If a course is canceled by us, registrants will be given two week’s notice.
    • Full refunds will be paid if the course is canceled by the school for any reason.
    • There will be no discounts, refunds, credits or transfers for classes not attended.

  • ImportantInformation about our Classes:

    • Full payment must be made at the time of registration. We cannot hold registrations without payment.
    • Southampton Arts is not liable for any injury or loss/damage to possessions.
    • Southampton Arts reserves the right to change a workshop’s location or replace an instructor with the same qualifications, for a class to run.
    • Smoking is NOT allowed inside or within 3 meters (10 feet) of the buildings.
    • Material Fees are not included in the course cost and are payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Material fees are listed with the class descriptions, and cover supplies provided for you by the
    instructor.
    • Material List means that you are required to bring your own supplies, based on the list provided.
    • The class location will be listed in the description. We hold a variety of classes at different locations throughout Saugeen Shores. Please read the class description carefully.

  • Material List

    Watercolour paints: 

    professional quality is best:( Winsor and Newton Daniel Smith,) 

    • Hansa yellow light, 

    • Winsor yellow, 

    • Indian yellow, 

    • Quinacridone red or Winsor red Prussian Blue or Antwerp Blue 

    • Quinacridone burnt orange, 

    • Raw Sienna. 

    (Bring the watercolour paints you use and any new colours to try out) 

    A large white palette with mixing space.

    Brushes:

    # 6,8,10 round watercolour brushes and 1" or 2" or larger wash brush

    Paper:

    3 full sheets of 140lb cold press watercolour paper (Arches or Fabriano)

    Other Items:

    an HB pencil, 

    sharpener, 

    white eraser, 

    fine black sharpie pen, 

    a large white ceramic plate for mixing, 

    Paper towels, 

    kleenex, 

    2 large water containers. 

    Students should bring photos of what they would like to paint.
