In this workshop, Maria will teach you dynamic, bold, palette knife techniques as you get a hands-on feel for the use of the knife instead of a brush. Create impressionistic-style landscapes with beautiful texture and depth!

  • Cancellations and Refunds

    • A cancellation fee (15% of the course fee) will be deducted for any class canceled by the student more than 14 days before the class starting date.
    • NO REFUND is given on classes the student cancels less than 14 days before the class begins.
    • If a course is canceled by us, registrants will be given two week’s notice.
    • Full refunds will be paid if the course is canceled by the school for any reason.
    • There will be no discounts, refunds, credits or transfers for classes not attended.

  • ImportantInformation about our Classes:

    • Full payment must be made at the time of registration. We cannot hold registrations without payment.
    • Southampton Arts is not liable for any injury or loss/damage to possessions.
    • Southampton Arts reserves the right to change a workshop’s location or replace an instructor with the same qualifications, for a class to run.
    • Smoking is NOT allowed inside or within 3 meters (10 feet) of the buildings.
    • Material Fees are not included in the course cost and are payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Material fees are listed with the class descriptions, and cover supplies provided for you by the
    instructor.
    • Material List means that you are required to bring your own supplies, based on the list provided.
    • The class location will be listed in the description. We hold a variety of classes at different locations throughout Saugeen Shores. Please read the class description carefully.

  • Material List

    Basic palette of colors:

    • Titanium White 

    • Cool and Warm Cad Yellow 

    • Yellow Ochre 

    • Cad Orange 

    • Permanent Rose or Cad Red or Alizarin Crimson 

    • Burnt Sienna, 

    • Ultramarine Blue

    • Cerulean Blue 

    • Turquoise Green (or Viridian Green), 

    • Purple or Violet. 

    Bring big tubes as we will use a lot of paint especially White and Ultramarine Blue.

    2 Palette knives (with blades 3 cm and 4.5 cm long diamond shape)

    Stretched Canvas, Canvas Panel, Canvas board or Gessoed board 

    Sizes: 12X16, 11x14 or 16x20 (for faster painters) one per day

    Easel (table or stand easel)

    Palette

    Sketchbook

    Pencil

    Eraser

    Paper towels

    Baby wipes

    Trash bag

    Table cloth to protect studio table
