Do you have the desire to paint and want to get started? Are you just starting with Acrylics or wanting to learn more about using them effectively? This class is for you! In this course we will cover the essentials of this medium using a double primary palette and selecting pigments to create harmonious paintings filled with colour. We will focus on learning what your palette choices can do for you and create paintings each day in a fun filled atmosphere. Materials List Paint - artist quality Titanium White Other than white, student grade paints are fine, though it makes a huge difference if you use artist grade materials. Golden and Liquitex are recommended brands. - Matte Medium -recommend Liquitex - Ultramarine Blue - Phthalo Blue (Green Shade-not red) - Cadmium Yellow (light or medium) - Yellow Ochre - Cadmium Red Light (Pyrrole Red or Cadmium free are great as well) - Alizarin Crimson or Quinacridone Crimson - Burnt Sienna (or transparent earth red) Optional (but nice) - Liquid Titanium White and Carbon Black - Phthalo Green - Chromium Green Oxide - Indian Yellow - Light Bismuth Yellow - Dioxazine Violet - Quinacridone Magenta Palette Recommend Masterson wet palette or a few flat plastic or styrofoam trays. **Containers for water and paper towels and paint rags…I often use my shirt! Brushes Two Flat and filbert sizes are recommended and a fine liner or two. Flats or filberts recommend ¼ inch to ½ inch. Fine liners (long fine pointed ones) numbered 1 or 0. Panels/Canvasses Bring your choice of canvasses/panels or hardboard. Three 8X10, two 9x12 and one 12X16 inch. Reference Material In Working with Acrylics 101 the reference material is provided by the instructor. Extra Stuff -White Chalk. If you have fine chalk and a holder even better. -Pencils -Ruler -Spray bottles for water or paint - green painters tape - some sketching paper or sketchbook

Adult course fees include 13% HST in the listed price. Children’s course fees are tax exempt. There are NO REFUNDS on classes cancelled by the student within the 14 days before the class begins. A cancellation fee of $25 applies to any class cancelled by the student more than 14 days before the class starting date. Classes may be cancelled at any time by Southampton Arts, without prior notice. Full refunds will be paid if the course is cancelled by the school for any reason. There will be no discounts, refunds, credits or transfers for classes not attended. Important Information about our Classes: Full payment must be made at time of registration.
