Glass Fusion: Some Like It Hot! with Carl Durance
This course is no longer available. Please check back in 2020 to see if it will be offered again.
Glass fusion is the process of melting different pieces of glass together in a kiln to form a single sheet. Transparent and opaque stained glass will be used in its various forms to create exquisite pieces of jewellery or artwork. This hands-on introduction to glass fusion will teach you about safety, characteristics of glass, and glass preparation including cutting, kiln prep and firing. If students already have experience with glass fusion, Carl will demonstrate other techniques to keep you busy such as forming and draping.
