Drypoint and Monoprinting with Liz Menard
This course is no longer available. Please check back in 2020 to see if it will be offered again.
This workshop explores two eco-friendly printmaking techniques: drypoint and monoprinting. Students will scratch into plates using an etching needle (drypoint) and paint directly onto plates (monoprint) to create rich, layered originals. Each piece will be hand printed on western and Japanese papers using a small etching press, which is fun and easy to use! Students will create a small edition of original prints or simply explore these two printmaking techniques to expand their practice. The possibilities are endless! Students are asked to bring plant material, photographs, or anything that will provide inspiration! This workshop is suitable for both beginner and advanced printmakers alike.
