Southampton Arts Centre offers several public gallery spaces for our community to enjoy inside the historic Southampton Old Town Hall. These rooms offer opportunities for local artists - Southampton Arts members and guest artists alike - to exhibit and sell their work.
We offer facility rentals! Contact us today to inquire about pricing.
Named after the founder of the Southampton Art School, the Henderson room is our signature space on the main level. This bright, spacious area used to be the court room of historic Southampton Town Hall and now displays fresh work from our member artists throughout the year.
The big double doors facing Albert Street are no longer in use, but were once thrown open each morning and evening as the town firetruck went about its business when this space served as the town Firehall. Today, this intimate, ground level space overlooking the Gateway to the Arts and the School beyond, hosts rotating exhibitions by guest artists.
Located on the main floor, this reading room houses our extensive Art Library. The Exploration Room holds regular exhibitions from guest artists -- and will soon be the home of our Emerging Artists program! Stay tuned for more details.
Cleary Community Rooms
Named after Carol Cleary, who was the first to have a vision for Town Hall as a display space for local artists and started a cooperative here in 1999, the Cleary Community Rooms thread through our lower levels. Wander through and view the work of our member artists year round.
