Kelly Rasmussen

Ceramic

Kelly Rasmussen is a Canadian ceramic artist whose work explores the tactile relationship between  form, function and surface. Working in stoneware, Kelly’s pieces reflect a deep appreciation for the  quiet beauty of everyday objects. Her work often balances simplicity and texture, with glazes that  echo natural elements – earth, water and sky.

Drawn to the meditative rhythm of the wheel and the feeling of the raw clay, Kelly creates both  functional wares and decorative pieces that invite touch and pay homage to her Danish heritage.  Each vessel is made by hand, often in small batches, and celebrates subtle variations of the pieces  that speak to the handmade process.

Kelly’s studio practice is rooted in a respect for tradition while continuously experimenting with  surface techniques and glazes. Whether it’s a cup that fits perfectly in the hand or a form that  sparks curiosity, her work invites moments of connection.

Her pottery has been exhibited in local galleries in Southwestern Ontario.
