With demos and fun exercises shown by the instructor, students will paint knowing how to establish darks first, as the light changes quickly. Keeping with the original plan helps to avoid chasing the light. Most importantly students will have fun!

  • Cancellations and Refunds

    • A cancellation fee (15% of the course fee) will be deducted for any class canceled by the student more than 14 days before the class starting date.
    • NO REFUND is given on classes the student cancels less than 14 days before the class begins.
    • If a course is canceled by us, registrants will be given two week’s notice.
    • Full refunds will be paid if the course is canceled by the school for any reason.
    • There will be no discounts, refunds, credits or transfers for classes not attended.

  • ImportantInformation about our Classes:

    • Full payment must be made at the time of registration. We cannot hold registrations without payment.
    • Southampton Arts is not liable for any injury or loss/damage to possessions.
    • Southampton Arts reserves the right to change a workshop’s location or replace an instructor with the same qualifications, for a class to run.
    • Smoking is NOT allowed inside or within 3 meters (10 feet) of the buildings.
    • Material Fees are not included in the course cost and are payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Material fees are listed with the class descriptions, and cover supplies provided for you by the
    instructor.
    • Material List means that you are required to bring your own supplies, based on the list provided.
    • The class location will be listed in the description. We hold a variety of classes at different locations throughout Saugeen Shores. Please read the class description carefully.

    Oil paints or acrylic paints

    Ultramarine blue, 

    burnt umber, 

    cadmium yellow light, 

    permanent brown madder or permanent alizarin crimson, 

    Viridian, 

    yellow ochre and titanium white,

    Panels:

    2 panels the same size - 8” x 10” for an exercise, a larger - 11” x 14” for a painting to complete hopefully by the end of class

    Other items:

    Liquin,

    paper towels, 

    Plein air pochade box, 

    gloves, 

    odourless mineral spirits,

    brushes, 

    palette knife, 

    bug spray, 

    hat, 

    Umbrella,

    sunscreen, 

    water, 

    snacks, 

    panels to paint on, 

    panel carrier.
